The Story of the Stone,
A mystical journey to Peru by Margo
Carrera
One morning I attended a group gathering of Women called the Grandmothers. These were women of all ages, races, and walks of life called to this meeting by the Great Council of the Grandmothers, a spirit group of the divine feminine who had come to assist in the Great Shift in consciousness here on the planet. The Grandmothers had come to restore the feminine principle back to the planet. They had come to infuse the planet with the Feminine energy (yin) which had become depleted in a Masculine (yang) society. Evidence of this imbalance can be seen throughout the planet by the disregard of the physical, (our bodies, nature, the animal realm, the oceans, streams, and river…), by excessive greed, and war. There message is not one of blame for either the masculine or the feminine. It is a call to rebalance the energies of yin and yang and to restore peace to the planet. It is also a call to the feminine, which is the reservoir for this energy to restore her this energy within her and to move into her calling to assist in this historical time called the Great Shift in consciousness. The meeting was led by Sharon McErlane, Author of the book, A Call to Power, the Grandmothers Speak. At this meeting were gathered all of the women throughout the world who were bringing forth the message of the Grandmothers. This is where my story begins. Sharon led the group in a guided meditation to help us to connect with Mother Earth. It is what the shamans call journeying. I had never connected with the earth in this way so I wasn’t sure how it would turn out but I had great faith in Sharon’s ability to lead and great faith in the grandmothers so I participated. She wanted us to connect with our animal guides who reside in the earth plane she called the middle world. She instructed us to visualize ourselves entering the earth, either by following the route of a tree deep into the earth or entering an opening in the ground that would appear for us. For me, a hole appeared and I followed it in while listening to the beat of the drum that Sharon was playing. I kept questioning if I was doing it correctly because my journey did not seem like the one Sharon had described to us before we started. She said we would descend straight down but my travels went this way and that way until I ended up in a place that looked like the chamber of a heart. When I arrived, I could see a dark dense energy similar to the energy that I clear in my clients. So instinctively, I went to grab this energy and start to remove it when the drum started beating faster. It was a sign that the journey was to come to an end and we were to return to the room. What happened is that it pulled me back into my body so quickly that the density came with me and lodged in my heart. Everyone returned to their normal state of consciousness and began to tell their stories of what they experienced on their journeys. Many talked about connecting with their animal spirit guide and what the animal taught them while they were with it. As they were talking my heart was aching more and more. I felt like I was going to have a heart attach. I even contemplated death and calm came over me, an acceptance of death now, in this room surrounded by such beautiful woman. As soon as that acceptance came, a friend noticed me and I asked her for help. I motioned to her that I was having heart pain. She stopped the group and let them know. Fortunately for me, I was in a room full of healers and they encircled me and all started to work on me. Sharon was using the sound of the drum to move the energy, some were doing Reiki, others prayer, etc. Quickly, the energy that was stuck in my heart was released and I began to speak about the heart of Mother Earth. What came through me to speak was that it had been so very long since so many women had come to visit Mother Earth like this. That this used to be a daily practice of the women of the world but little by little it had fallen away. She had deeply missed her connection with the women and we, the women, had deeply missed our connection with the Mother Earth. The pain that I felt in my heart was pain of this lost connection. After this event, we all took a much needed break to integrate what had just happened. As I was walking out of the room a beautiful Grandmother came up to me and handed me a stone. I recognized the stone right away. It was a Peruvian healing stone. She told me that two years ago someone had given her this stone and she has been meditating with it and carrying it with her ever since. She said that this person told her that someday she would come across a person who was to receive this stone and she would know who that person was. She was told to give that person the stone. She then told me that I was this person. I was so touched and graciously received the stone. As I studied the stone, I noticed the markings on it. I had been taught about these stones during one of my previous journeys to Peru. These stones are used to clear chakras. The stone have Apus (Mountain Spirits) carved onto them. This one had four Apus, indicating that this was for healing the Fourth Chakra. The Peruvians count from the top down so the fourth chakra was the heart chakra. Neither of us had noticed this until I started to teach her about the stone. I began to use it to restore my heart energy and the stone began to clear energy right away. We were both amazed. While I sat quietly recovering from the event, I studied the stone further. It had unusual markings that I had not noticed on other healing stones. It had what looked like a map on it. The Apus were a land mark and lines seemed to be showing me something but what, I was not clear about. Also on the back was a symbol that I was not clear about as well. So I began to meditate with the stone to see if information would come through. As I did this, I began to have what seemed to be flash backs to an earlier time where I seemed to be a Priestess in Peru. It showed a torturous time which included rape and imprisonment and ultimately death. As I worked with the stone many of my fears in this lifetime would become apparent and then clear from my body permanently. Somewhere stored in my DNA was this lifetime asking to be remembered and healed. I also took this stone to my friend Mirabai Devi who is a mystic and a seer as well. She held the stone and told me that it told her a story of a time in Peru when the Spaniards came and there was so much violence and destruction over the land that the Earth fractured. The stone was a messenger asking for the fracture to be healed so that Mother Earth could go through her transition. She told me that there was also a vortex that had been closed which needed to be reopened and that the stone had a map to show me where these areas were. This stone took me on the most exciting journey to Peru in 2007. In my next article, I will tell you of the Journey to Peru and how I was initiated by the Q’ero Shaman from the high Andes Mountains, and how we found the sites to do the earth work as well as the results. Also check out our upcoming Journey to Peru with Mirabai Devi and Myself. Peru is not a destination, it is a calling. When I got the stone at the Grandmothers event, I heard and felt the calling loud and clear. Amazingly enough, a week later, I received an e-mail from one of my mentors, Rita Rivera Fox, notifying me of an upcoming trip to Peru. This trip would go to Cuzco, Machu Picchu, the Sacred Valley and then on to Lake Titicaca. When I read about the Lake Titicaca portion of her trip, I knew that I had to be there. So I signed up to go to the second portion of her trip. Not knowing why though, I booked my plane flight to go to Peru for the entire time that she was there. I wondered what I was going to do during the extra time span, but it felt right to book those dates. Again, a week later, I knew why I had saved those dates. I received another e-mail from another mentor, James Williams, the author of the Andean Codex, inviting me to come to Peru for a very special event. He told me that Sebastian, a Q’ero shaman elder told him that his people have a prophecy that there will come a time when their people will be asked to share their sacred knowledge with the outside world and that he has been told that the time was now. They invited me to be among the first to receive an initiation onto the path of the Q’ero shaman. I was so honored and of course I said yes. It just so happened that the date that this was to happen was the dates that I had set aside for my trip to Peru. Can you just feel the perfection of the Universe in this. It gets better.
This was one of the most sacred experiences of my lifetime. There was a moment in time during the initiation that I knew that this was more important than I could know; that this was a mile-stone in my life. Channels opened in my body which allowed me to become much more connected to nature and gave me the ability to feel it, see it more clearly, and communicate with nature. My respect for all living things was awakened. Abilities were awakened that I did not even know about until later in the trip. I was initiated onto the first path of the shaman, the path of Ayni. Ayni can be translated to mean reciprocity; the giving and receiving of all things. It sounds simple, but it is a profound path and we as humans on this planet have much to learn on this path. Our belief in lack has led us further and further away from Ayni. The Q’ero’s believe that everything in the physical world comes to us from Mother Earth; our bodies, our clothes, our homes, and our food. There is no lack for them because they take care of the Mother and the Mother takes care of them. Ayni.
After our initiation, we went to Machu Picchu, the seventh wonder of the world. It is a mystical place that still holds its magical energy. To walk into the compound is to walk into the sacred beauty of nature. Green mountains surround you and hold you safely like a womb. Here we held a blessing of thanks to the mother for our gift and we gave back to her. As we finished I could feel her loving me and I turned around to see her blue mist rising from the soil. It was an unforgettable moment. Yet the trip just kept getting better.
Because the two groups were going to be in Peru at the same time and the same place, we were able to coordinate for them to come together in ceremony. After our initiations were completed, we held what was called a Hatun Dyspacho. It was an amazing event. We had a group of Q’ero come down and play their native flutes, Sebastian lead the blessings and nature responded by the sun coming out and the birds began to sing. Many saw light descend into the middle of our circle. I was so joyous because my daughter had come with the other group so I got to experience this moment with her.
This was a beautiful ending to one part of my journey and it heralded in the very exciting second part of the journey. Lake Titicaca is said to be the navel of the planet. It is said that this is where civilization was born. All lay lines lead out from this lake to temples, and pyramids across the planet. This is where I was to find the locations on my stone. On the first day there, we were taken to Amantani Island. It is called the Island of the pink ray. Mind you, we were now at about 13,000 feet above sea level and we were asked to hike to the top of this Island, which was at about 15,000 feet above sea level. Along the way, my mind kept saying, can’t we just stop here by this tree and do our ceremony? But no, we had to go to the top. At about three quarters of the way up, I started to feel the altitude. My lungs were heaving and my head was aching. But something inside of me said, you will make this journey. Slow down, it doesn’t matter if the others go ahead of you. It doesn’t matter if they wait for you. It will be their choice. What matters is that you enjoy the journey. Stop and catch your breath and see the beauty around you. It is not about the destination, it is about the journey. So I did slow down, and they did wait for me to get to the top. As soon as we arrived, Rita pulled me into the center circle and we began to each say what was in our hearts. When it was my time, I felt called to bring in the Grandmothers energy, for had they not brought me here? They were the ones that brought for the stone. As I called them in, I literally heard everyone in the circle behind me (about 25 people) give an audible sigh , like the sigh you would hear of someone receiving a wonderful backrub; the sigh of comfort. As we all joined hands in the circle and simply radiated our heart energy as a group, the vortex opened and out the center of the circle came the pink ray from the earth. Was this the vortex that had been shut off? Was this the one I was to open? If so, it was indeed now open. .
It turned out that the destination was just as good as the journey That night, energies kept coming into the room. I was able to see them and so did my roommate and Rita. I figured that we were being prepared for the next day. I could tell that something very important was going to occur the next day. This was the day that we were being taken to the Doorway, a portal that was recently found by our guide Jorge Delgado. He was supposed to lead us there but he got called away. In the morning, I thought to myself, we aren’t going to have a shaman on this journey to do a blessing of the land there. It is such sacred land. That when I got an ahh ha moment. I realized that there was going to be a shaman there, Me In my visions prior to coming, I came to know that it was through this portal that many Incans escaped and it is said that they took the golden sun dial with them. In my visions, this was the place of my capture. I had stayed behind to close the portal. I was a little scared to go there but I kept breathing out the fear. Face the fear and do it anyway is what my best friend, Marsh Engle, always tells me. As we arrived, I could feel the energy of the site. There was pain and suffering there. A woman met me as I approached the site and she was holding three feathers. I purchased them; she said they were condor feathers. I was not sure this was so, but it didn’t seam to matter. I took the feathers with me and went to the site. There in the spot where I set my mesa down was a hole to put the feathers in. That was a good sign. This was where I was to hold the ceremony. Here I sat and listened to what the land was wishing for me to do. I called in the four directions, Mother Earth, the Apus (Mountain Spirits), the Thunder Spirits, and the nature Spirits. Our group was in tune with the space and one of them began to speak a message, then another, and another. I felt that one more had not yet spoken, and asked if there was another message for us. There was, a lovely petite woman came forward and shared her message and then it was time to begin. We said a prayer of forgiveness to the earth for the conflict that occurred over the land. We each spoke what was in our hearts, and I then began to lift the energetic imprint of the conflict off the land. I also cleared the geopathic stress in the land that had been caused by the conflict. After, we formed a group circle and I asked them to listen for a tone in their heads. Then, when they heard the tone, they were to OM this tone. When they began to tone, every single person in the circle had the same exact tone. It was a deep guttural note that you might hear a Tibetan monk chant. The ground literally vibrated as we chanted and then I heard the words, IT IS DONE. Rita heard them as well. Then nature responded. The winds began to blow and the sky clouded. There was thunder and lightening. We all returned to the bus. But before I did, I turned to Rita and said, I think that the stone is asking to be left here. She told me yes, it is. It was like saying good-bye to my best friend. I laid the stone in a pile of stones near the doorway. My job was done here. I had begun my path as a shaman.
